Overview

DocTap offers rapid-access private GP care across London—with nine central clinics and a reliable video appointment option. It’s known for transparent pricing, same-day testing, and well-trained, GMC-registered clinicians, but it’s not built for ongoing chronic care.

Locations & Formats

DocTap runs nine clinics in central London:

  • Bond Street (W1)

  • Canary Wharf (E14)

  • Clapham (SW4)

  • Hammersmith (W6)

  • King’s Cross & Euston (WC1)

  • Liverpool Street & Bank (EC2)

  • London Bridge (SE1)

  • Swiss Cottage (NW3)

  • Victoria (SW1)

You can choose:

  • In-person appointments

  • Video consultations

  • Onsite lab testing, with rapid results at Liverpool St & King’s Cross

Pricing Structure

GP Appointments

  • In-clinic (15 min): £75 on weekdays, £95 on weekends

  • In-clinic (25 min): £115 weekdays, £150 weekends

  • Follow-up (10 min): £40 weekdays, £50 weekends

  • Video GP (15 min): £55 weekdays, £70 weekends

  • Video follow-up (10 min): £30 weekdays, £40 weekends

Other services:

  • STI tests: From £59

  • Health screens: From £99

  • Blood tests (A–Z): From £40 + £20 handling fee + consult fee

Test Pricing Comparison

  • DocTap: HbA1c ~£45 + £20 handling + consult. FBC ~£40 + £20 handling + consult

  • London Doctors Clinic (LDC): HbA1c ~£70 + consult; FBC+ESR ~£63 + consult; LFT ~£64 + consult

Verdict: DocTap’s blood testing setup is more affordable by around £20–£30, though you must also account for the additional handling charge.

Clinical Services & Capabilities

DocTap offers a wide range of services including:

  • Prescriptions, referrals, sick notes, and medical letters—all included in the consult (unless requested separately)

  • Sexual health, women’s health, mental health, wound care, injections, ear wax removal, and health screens—all delivered by GMC-registered, NHS-trained GPs

What They Don’t Do

  • Do not prescribe: controlled drugs (S2/S3), weight-loss injectables, or high-risk medications requiring close follow-up

  • Do not accept standalone phlebotomy—patients must book a GP consult first

  • Do not manage chronic diseases long-term—continuity care is not their model

Doctor Quality & Continuity

  • All GPs are GMC-registered, NHS-trained, and adhere to strict clinical governance standards

  • You can choose your clinician and even rebook with the same GP—building a degree of continuity

  • DocTap formally prevents incentives for unnecessary tests—integrity is baked into their approach

Ideal for…

  • People needing quick, transparent care (fast consults, same-day testing, or prescriptions)

  • Users who value choice—male or female GP, clinic or video only

  • Business travellers or commuters needing healthcare near their office

Not ideal for…

  • Patients with complex or chronic conditions who need ongoing management and continuity with the same GP

  • Those needing controlled medication or complex prescribing

  • Users looking for “hidden extras”—you must factor in the handling test fee and always book with a GP first

Summary

  • Locations: 9 London clinics + video — same-day, evenings, weekends

  • Price: In-person from £75; video from £55; blood tests ~£40 + £20 handling + consult

  • Services: Full GP, tests, letters, sexual & women’s health, mental health, minor procedures

  • Treatment Boundaries: No controlled drugs, no standalone tests, not for chronic disease

  • Doctors: NHS-trained & GMC-certified; choice of clinician & transparent policies
